Experience Europe together
The exhibition and all events are open to the public and free of charge.
Three French artists and three German artists give a joint insight into their work.
From Normandy, France, Viviane Dubosc (painter from Sommery) is represented, who devotes herself in particular to the theme of tides from various artistic perspectives; Jean-Pierre Georgin (sculptor from Le Tréport), a mathematician who deals with the human form in motion, among other things, in the field of tension between figuration and abstraction; Sylvain Georges (photographer from Dieppe), who is dedicated to the individual in a dissolving space.
The three German artists are Jutta Weidemann-Tigges (painter/ Mönchengladbach), who is particularly concerned with the physicality and culturality of movement as a coditio humana; Jürgen Heinze (Sculptor/Korschenbroich), who deals with the rearrangement of industrial artefacts, among other things, and thus thematises the movement of the human spirit through the means of alienation itself in his work; Reinhard Tigges (Sculptor/Painter/ Mönchengladbach), who utilises the formal language of surrealism when he conceives movement as a spaceless abstraction and thus approaches the human psyche itself as a subject.
The event will kick off with a vernissage on 17 May 2024 at 19:00.
On Saturday, 18 May 2024 at 16:00, there will be a group discussion on the topic of "on the move/mobility" and its significance for individuals.
On Sunday, 19 May 2024 at 14:30, an "ArtWalk" will be held by local artist Malte Sonnenfeld.
We look forward to your visit!
